Description

The Commercial Plumbing Foreman is responsible for the installation of plumbing projects, including drain, waste, vent, domestic water, rain leaders and hydronic piping, and related equipment and fixtures. This position responds to additional work authorizations and change orders in response to requests from contractors, or owners. The Commercial Plumbing Foreman is responsible for the execution of the project. The position collaborates with the Commercial Plumbing Project Manager to order materials, schedule resources, schedule subcontractors, manage cash flow and coordinate with owners and contractors. The Commercial Plumbing Foreman will report project status to the project manager.

Thorough experience with the common practices, tools, and terminology of the plumbing trade; detailed knowledge of the use and characteristics of common plumbing equipment; capable of recognizing the hazards and safety precautions associated with the plumbing trade; skill in the use of tools and equipment; ability to work from sketches, drawings, plans, or specifications; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates; ability to communicate clearly and provide direction for associates.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project managers
  • Execute project schedules
  • Order materials / create purchase requests
  • Collaborate with project manager to schedule subcontractors
  • Collaborate with project manager to schedule rental equipment
  • Collaborate with project manager to schedule other resources required for project completion
  • Coordinate with contractor(s) and owner
  • Effectively manage punch lists
  • Manage projects to an expedient completion
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Warehouse, Fabrication, and Operations staff
  • Enforce standards of work and workmanship
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment
  • Stay current on codes, municipal regulations methods, technology, tools, and equipment offerings
  • Adhere to and enforce company policy and procedures
  • Analyze, read, and layout per drawings, specifications, and submittals.
  • Perform takeoffs.
  • Plan, perform, and supervise the installation of plumbing projects, including drain, waste, vent, domestic water, rain leaders and hydronic piping and related equipment and fixtures.
  • Schedule the daily work.
  • Maintain As-Built drawings and redlines
  • Communicate with General Contractors and/or Owners.
  • Communicate with the Ellingsons project manager(s).
  • Perform daily job analysis sheets and plans, submit associated paperwork and documents.
  • Process material returns at the completion of the job or sub-job.
  • Complete A.W.As and change orders.
  • Provide input into employee performance evaluations.

Leadership / Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite leadership to the project team
  • Assist in the development installation staff goals
  • Provide input into employee performance evaluations.
  • Provide input into Ellingsons Apprenticeship Program assessments and evaluations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Blueprint reading
  • Understanding of applicable building codes and trade standards
  • Understanding of commercial construction
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects
  • Ability to develop and execute project plans to deliver results
  • Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles including cash flow management
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships
  • Experience with Servant Leadership
  • Licensed tradesman
  • Five years experience in running $500,000 plumbing jobs
  • Ability to lead crew sizes of eight or more.
  • Ability to manage multi-floor commercial plumbing projects over a period of months
